Seems rather straight forward and….stupid??(or am I?). Through metamask phone app, uniswapp won't detect metamask?!?!?

You should use the wallet browser ,not extension browser

You have to connect with metamask through walletconnect
Try temporarily disabling other wallet extensions and retry.
I had a similar issue last week or so? Turn out, the other wallets extension were grabbing the wallet hook.
