Hi guys,
several days ago I’ve brought up the question which Bitcoin related books you would recommend. Now I’ve found the picture of a pretty interesting Bitcoin subreddit0r 🙂
What books should be read first to gain structural understanding?
Additionally to all the books listed (see image) I’ve got “The Ethics of Money Production”.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Nice!
Inventing Bitcoin
„A progressive‘s case for bitcoin“ by Jason Meier is one of my favorites so far.
I regret having a bunch of these digitally and not hardcover.
Digital Gold was my favorite. Super entertaining read. If you’re interested in the early days of Bitcoin and what the culture was like back then, this is the book for you.
Also, shout-out Andreas Antonopoulos for being one of the best educators in the space for the past decade.
I’ve read 4 of those books.
I highly recommend:
Broken Money by Lyn Alden is by far the best Bitcoin book I’ve read
Yes better than The Bitcoin Standard – fight me
Got three of those and made it through two of them so far. When money does is INCREDIBLY eye opening, both monetarily and historically.
The creature from Jekyll Island is a good one apparently, I haven’t read it yet but it’s about the history of the federal reserve
And has it brought you anything except to know that BTC is really great, the future and will soon be really expensive?
Renewing the Search for a Monetary Constitution: Reforming Government’s Role in the Monetary System by Lawrence H White is an econ textbook about hard money. The last chapter is all about Bitcoin; the book is rather skeptical as it was written and published in 2016 or 2017, but it’s a good read either way
Mastering Bitcoin is simply unmatched. Ultimately, studying Bitcoin by analogies will only get you so far. If you read Mastering Bitcoin, you’re truly studying it on the mathematical level.
What are the top 5 books from this list?
I actually have Ray Dalio’s book.
I saw (and had to agree with) a review of The Bitcoin Standard stating it was a “shit sandwich”
Great beginning and end, terrible filling!
Don’t forget Bitcoin Magazine
The Creature of Jekyll Island is the grandfather of all of these books
I don’t see my favorites here:
Thank God for Bitcoin by Jimmy Song
Mandibles by Lionel Shriver (a novel)
I wonder how many sats all those books cost. I read the Bitcoin Standard, and I liked it. I don’t need any further convincing so I’m just gonna stack sats.
I need one that is technical: explains blockchain and the underlying technology. Any recommendations for that?
I wish I had all those books
Where is “hard money you can’t F with”
😁 u the man…my bad bro!
I’ve read most of these – it’s an excellent selection!
When starting, I’d recommend The Little Bitcoin Book, 21 Lessons (not shown), and Vijay’s Bullish Case for Bitcoin. Yan’s Inventing Bitcoin explains how bitcoin works without getting into the technology – helps answer a lot of questions that will inevitably pop up.
The three on the bottom left are wonderful technical books .. if you’ve got a technical background and want to understand Bitcoin at a more fundamental technical level.
There’s no duds there! Enjoy 🙂
This looks shockingly similar to a post from u/KAX1107 a while back
Softwar is good but it got banned and pulled from the MIT library. you can still find PDF online.
