What is Radix?

Radix is a full-stack, layer-1 smart contract platform dedicated to providing a radically better Web3 experience for developers and the everyday user.

Founded in 2013 on the belief that the mass adoption of DeFi is hindered by a lack of scalability alongside poor user and developer experience, Radix has spent the last decade building a decentralized ecosystem that is infinitely scalable, easy to develop on, and simple enough for the everyday person to engage with.

With Radix, users can confidently use Web3 and DeFi to manage their assets and identities. For developers, Scrypto and Radix Engine provide a powerful and secure asset-oriented programming paradigm that allows builders to intuitively go from idea to production-ready dApps that their users will love.

  1. Radix DLT burned 1,575 moons to host this AMA.

  2. I was looking one of the tokens on the Radix Dashboard and noticed enumerated roles like Burner, Minter, Freezer, Burner_Updater, etc. That seems to match the Resource Behavior docs as a preset list of roles a fungible token can have.

That’s really cool. This makes it really easy to find out about a token without having to read contract code. One of the issues with ERC-20 tokens is that you can put whatever code you want into token contract functions. So a scammer could potentially have a mint() function that secretly burns tokens instead. Am I correct to assume that these Radix resource roles are always correct, and that the Radix Dashboard can’t be tricked? In other words, are these basically native tokens with a limited/enumerated feature set?

Also, are ERC-20 tokens possible on Radix where anything can be allowed?
