40 years of work put together

  1. Hal Finney, the first Bitcoiner ‘running Bitcoin’ was a Boomer. Much of the development seen in that diagram that lead to Bitcoin was done by Boomers, yet younger generations denigrate Boomers as being too old or stupid to ever understand it. Laughable. Agreed, many boomers will never understand it, but I am still having a hard time orange-pilling my own millennial adult kids who prefer to spend their money on EVs, travel, and the latest iphone.

I am the same vintage as Hal, but I was a DSP engineer pioneer in sampler/synth development, which is now ‘owned’ by today’s rappers, but I prefer to see credit given, where credit is due especially in the much more monumental Bitcoin space.

I wish you young-ins well with ‘your’ AI technology… but just try not to f#ck everything up for your kids, and my grand kids. /end rant.

  2. Seems totally arbitrary. Why does it start with TCP/IP? What about digital electronics / the computer itself? Electricity? Various theorems and advances of discrete mathematics and group theory, over centuries?

It’s not the result of “40 years”. But the same can be said for most inventions.

  3. Thank you for this. It’s hard to explain to people that you were into in crypto in the nineties, but reading that Cypherpunk manifesto in 1995/6 changed my life forever.
