What’s with the 2.5.3 firmware update and ZEC unified address support?

From the blog post on the firmware update:

Zcash Unified Address

Trezor Model T firmware now supports the sending of funds to the new Zcash unified address format.

But I still can't send to a unified address:

A ZEC unified address that is claimed to be invalid by Trezor Suite

And the Receive UI in trezor suite doesn't offer a unified address either.

So what is this update really about?

What's with the 2.5.3 firmware update and ZEC unified address support?

  1. Please bear in mind that no one from the Trezor team would send you a private message first.

No one from the Trezor team (Reddit mods, Support agents, etc) would ever ask for your recovery seed!

  2. Unified address support is there on firmware side, but unfortunately there’s no matching support on Suite side. So this is kind of useless for Suite users for now.
