Just fyi. I spoke to some of the core team and was informed that this proposal was decided by two people (Stephen and Li). Other, possibly, much better proposals were rejected. Some of the core team wants the community to know that they tried.
From core team member:
“I want you all to know that we tried. This is not a proposal most of us thought was ideal, or remotely good. Recommendations were made on how to better handle this, but unfortunately they were rejected by the ultimate decision maker. The community deserves more, and I hope they eventually know that most of us have been vocal, but there's only so much we can do when our hands are tied.
Other options were presented, such as dipping into the treasury, but as I said it was rejected by the ultimate decision maker. There is nothing I or my peers can do. This mess belongs to two specific people who make the decisions, and I strongly hope the community will come to know this.”
