The NFT market is literally built on shillers and frauds

I don’t understand how so many marketers keep spamming Twitter with their clients’ art and NFTs until they sell. That’s not so bad on its own, I mean obviously marketing works, but it’s awful that people are so simple-minded that they would show no consideration and still buy the first thing they see that is advertised the most.

Advertising by putting it in your face all the time.

It’s like their art is always in your face, all the time. Take for example the sham that was Pixelmoon, I can’t believe they managed to gather that much money and make the worst art I have ever laid my eyes upon. This is what the market has become, from a sanctuary for artists seeking to reclaim ownership over their art to horrible shillers and scammers.

This is why NFT platforms should be applying harsh mechanisms to control the distribution and minting of NFTs, furthermore, they should be regulating who is a real artist and who isn’t; trust me there’s a huge difference.

Platforms such as Yunometa for example, despite being small still, apply harsh criticism and regulation to the aspiring artists on their platforms, a vetting process in essence. Which is why their market is built on tiny artists that are insanely successful. Because they’re literally artists who have sacrificed their whole lives for it, not a bunch of scammers hoping to make a quick buck.

We should be playing this role in putting art back where it belongs, and garbage back in the garbage too. This is unacceptable, especially from the point of view of someone who once saw the NFT market as an asylum for artists who want recognition and power over their original creations.

Unfair to the artists, unfair to the seller. Don’t let marketers rule your mind.
