ONE Community –

This is the live proposal to be voted on by all concerning validator weekly spotlight ads. Please vote by commenting “Yes” to agree with proposal or “No” for disagreement.

Summary:

To initiate a weekly featured validator spotlight ad where one validator will be interviewed and given an opportunity to describe themselves and their validator aspirations.

Background:

Currently the rules of the sub do not allow validator advertisements in order to keep the sub from turning into mainly validators poaching for delegators. This proposal will give validators an avenue to advertise their service while keeping the intent of the sub management.

Motivation:

There are validators in the community who do assist members as well as new validators looking to become elected. To raise awareness of validators, we believe they need an avenue that gives them a voice and an introduction into the community while keeping the advertisement rules intact. There has been a lot of talk in the community concerning spreading delegations around and this spotlight will serve as a way of informing the community of validator choices. The community will also benefit from the ability to “get to know” participating validators on a more personal level and gain insight into what they offer the community.

Specifications:

The spotlight will serve as an “ad spot” where interested validators can enter a weekly raffle to get featured for that week. The ad would run from from Sunday through Monday. The weekly raffle buy-in for validators will be 50 ONE; validators under 10 million staked will be allowed a maximum of 3 entries. All other validators will be limited to 1 entry. Entries will roll over to the next raffle if the validator doesn't win; validators must enter each week to benefit from each raffle roll-over. Once a validator wins the raffle there will be a 1 month cool-down period in which they cannot enter a raffle.

Raffle Proceeds Management

50% of the winning bid will be split between the top 3 community comments on the weekly ad post; the other 50% would be set aside for donation to charity. Ideally these will be non-crypto Reddit charity communities with the hope of driving more adoption of ONE. There will be a ONE wallet set up for the raffle entries to be sent to with the seed phrase known by all moderators. In the event of the funds not going to the appropriate recipients the moderators will reimburse the wallet the full amount.
