best exchange to purchase 900k in BTC?

option 1:

Robinhood with “free commissions” and immediately transfer to a wallet

option 2:

Kraken or Coinbase and pay, by my estimates, 13,000 USD in fees (I have a screenshot of Coinbase charging $500 per 35k purchase so 13k in fee's for 900k purchase) and immediately transfer to a wallet.

it seems option 1 is best… but can anyone tell me if there's anything wrong with that? and yes it assumes Robinhood lifts the transfer restriction (which is already done)

thank you

  1. I bet RH takes profits by having a bigger spread. I’d go with Kraken, having the highest reputation imho. Maybe even contact Kraken support and ask for an OTC trade with a potential discount for a high volume trade.

  2. Good luck buying $900K worth on Robinhood then spending 180 days sending your $5K daily limit to cold storage lol

  3. Turn off your DM box and ignore all the private messages you already received, they are all scammers.
I would suggest Binance or Kraken Pro and then move your funds to a cold wallet such as Cold Card MK4 or BitBox02 Bitcoin Only, engrave your SEED on a piece of metal ( don’t take any kind of digital copies of it ) and don’t share it with anyone.

  4. I had a family friend ask me how to buy 250k worth. That was enough to get VIP concierge treatment to an OTC deal at Coinbase. Pretty trustworthy too.

  5. Robinhood is a bad company and they shouldnt be supported with your business.

You should use Kraken OTC like others have said, or another top exchange’s over the counter desk. That’s what its for.

    Good luck

  6. Kraken has an OTC desk that they have promoted heavily here. It’s for any transaction of $100K or more.

  7. Coinbase advanced with limit orders will cost well under 0.5% even starting from a new account.

Check the fee schedule. After the first 500k, it’s only 0.1% fee for limit order.

  8. Question? When you have a large amount (1 BTC or more) is it safer to have smaller quantities over a few wallets or with just 1 and guard the seed/PW with your life?

  9. Kraken. They have a service you can privately buy and not have an open market order

  10. Coinbase pro (the advanced feature). Use USDC to purchase and use a limit buy order.

    This will greatly reduce fees.

  11. I would investigate one of the concierge services like Strike Private to see if they can give you a good price. Robinhood is shit

  12. Use an OTC desk to help you for that amount and not an exchange. Less of a hassle with transferring money and making sure to get it at the right price/better liquidity etc.

     EDIT:  River – https://river.com/private-client

    Strike – https://strike.me/learn/how-to-buy-a-lot-of-bitcoin-using-over-the-counter/

  13. Using coinbase advanced, place a market limit order for 50k of btc. This will cost 0.25% and wait 20 mins for you to get advanced tier 4. Then you can do a 0.15% maker trade for total fees of like 1300.

It’s important you use limit orders to be a maker trade

  14. I would contact those exchanges and see if there was a way to make a single purchase for a reduced fee.

For a $900k purchase, you would certainly get lower fees than I would for my $100 DCA.

  15. You should call Swan or River depending on where you live. This is enough dollars to get you private treatment

  16. You should be buying OTC if you’re going to be buying close to a million dollars in Bitcoin.

  17. Kraken fees are pretty low and get lower the more you spend in a given month. Coinbase is absolutely outrageous though (but maybe Coinbase One is better, idk never tried it)

  18. OTC desks! Coinbase over the counter. OTC (over the counter) is the best possible way if you are buying over 500k worth of

  19. Don’t buy just on the normal exchange. You will want to use an exchanges trading desk. Gemini and Clinbase both have institutional groups that can facilitate this. Also you can contact NYDIG, not sure what their minimums are at the moment. But I would expect a fair amount of due diligence and heavy KYC before you’re able to purchase. Also for that amount, you will want to wire the funds. It likely won’t be a spot trade fyi, but this is the safest way and they can also transfer it to your cold wallet if you want..
