Uniswap Acquires Ethereum NFT Aggregator Genie, Airdrop Incoming as the Largest Decentralized Exchange Protocol Continues to Expand Presence In the Web3 Ecosystem.

It is intended to include both ERC-20s and NFTs in the range of goods offered by Uniswap.

Its plan to “unlock universal ownership and exchange” on its platform includes the acquisition of the NFT marketplace aggregator. Uniswap will initially incorporate NFTs into its web app, enabling users to buy and sell such assets across all major marketplaces as well as in its developer APIs and widgets, according to the company's official blog post.

It is interesting to see Uniswap expand it's scope in the blockchain ecosystem, as platforms Binance, Kraken, Concordium and Cardano are continually developing their platforms to further enhance their presence in the ecosystem while also improving and expanding services available to users. With both Binance and Kraken already having already established their market place and Cordordium implementing ID disclosure mechanism – with an ID-layer at the protocol level – allows regulators to revoke privacy to identify suspected bad actors and illegal transactions while also using self-sovereign ID and zero-knowledge proof to protect privacy.

For those who are unaware, Genie not only makes it possible to purchase and sell items on other marketplaces in a single transaction, but it also displays listings from all the main rival marketplaces. Less than two months ago, NFT juggernaut OpenSea acquired rival Genie company Gem.

In August, Uniswap also intends to airdrop USDC to Genie beta testers. In essence, the stablecoin will be made available for up to 12 months to every user who had utilized the platform at least once or possessed a Genie Genesis NFT before April 15. Users of Genie will continue to get unhindered access to the website until the new Uniswap NFT experience is accessible, according to the statement. This news is from Crypto Potato.
