  1. Nigerian Central Banker Mr. Godwin Emefiele tried to force Nigerian citizens onto the eNaira CBDC in March 2023. He cut off cash supplies and didn’t seem to care that only 10% of residents have mobile devices, financially squeezing 90% of the population. Of the 10% with mobile devices, only 2% used the CBDC app. Riots started almost immediately, which Mr Emefiele tried to parlay for his PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN, which he was running simultaneously. His scheme backfired and he was ARRESTED last month.

    All in all, a bad look for a CBDC launch.
